The prospect of combining a surf comp with waves at the moment seems a tricky proposition. Therefore starting this Weds at 6.30pm at Compton the 2010 Summer Series begins.
We are going to run a comp every other week for the summer on Wednesday evenings and run a league alongside it. If there are contestable waves we will run a contest or an expression session. If there are no waves then we will have paddle races (you may just want a to paddle for fitness or as a social).
Either way we think it is a great way to get the club going, with beach cleans and BBQs it seems the easiest way to get people together.
To enter you need to be a member of the club and each event you will need £2 subs for BBQ and future prizes.

UK South Coast Comp …. hoping to be held in Sept on t’island – Watch THis Space ! ( dont worry we haven’t forgotten our inaugural event – just a matter of time I’m sure ! and yes I have been saying that for a while now .. but the Gods are obviously punishing us for such a good winter – snowboarding n’all ! )

Hope some of you had the pulse Weds, Thurs and Friday last week. Fun waves with sunshine. Good Stuff. It looks like there might be some slop on its way this weekend. Blustery Sou-westers and a midday tide means a lie in and then some grovel for brunch. Fingers crossed for weekend slop!

Hi all, been a frustrating couple of weeks for waves a small pulse two weeks ago, but not a great deal to shout about. Fingers crossed for wind slop on sunday, west-side. I’m sure you have already seen it but just thought I’d put up a video of that classic day at Freshy last Feb. Imagine waves like that now!!!!!Chunky Freshwater

Due to the complete lack of any contestable surf – the comp has now been postponed till further notice.

Sorry for any disappointment but we really want the first competition to have contestable surf and go off with a bang, otherwise we will not get the numbers, and therefore the required uptake of membership.

We will be keeping our eyes on the charts over the coming weeks and the first weekend it looks like anything even half decent is coming our way, we’ll look to run the event.
